Author: Cathy F. I sure wouldn't buy insurance from GIEGO either.
Subject: Okay. Maybe I am just a Grabby old lady like my husband says... but does anyone find those GIEGO commercials offensive? The one with mother leaves her child with the robots for daycare. The parents that eat the young girl's fish because sushi is too expensive, and the Parents who teach their 5 yr old to dunk so he can get a scholorship(sp) to college. I don't find them funny. I think it is a reflection on the "ME" generation. Are parents really that lazy, self centered and not have any compassion toward their children. I change the channel when every those commercials come on. NOT FUNNY!!

[> i'm sorry to say - you're probably right - but as a parent currently paying tuition - I laughed at the commercial thinking - ain't that the truth- -- chris k, 00:41:16 10/28/11 Fri [1]

[> [> I should mention the basketball commercial - I never did get the sushi commercial I mean- really Sushi? how badly do you want raw fish? and I never thought about the baby one - to me it was more a commentary on how our society has stopped raising children - -- chris k -, 22:14:30 10/28/11 Fri [1]

[> Well, I don't know what it says about me, but I mostly let them go by me. The basketball one doesn't bother me. It's just misguided. I don't *like* the one about the daycare, but I can't stand the one about the sushi. Totally unfunny. -- Dancer - And I laughed at the caveman jokes., 01:39:19 10/28/11 Fri [1]

[> The sushi one is a real turn-off....I can't believe that anyone that it would be funny to kill your pets and then be so callous about it. The others I don't find funny, but they don't bug me like the sushi one does. The one that gets me is the toilet paper commercial where the husband always wants someone to "toss" his a roll, I'm like what you can't go get it yourself you lazy a**? -- JenniferM, 12:49:49 10/28/11 Fri [1]

[> You may not uy Giego insurance but their ads are working. you remember them and are talking about them. Isn't that what its all about? -- Glo, 23:37:58 10/28/11 Fri [1]

[> [> But there's a difference between remembering them because you cant stand them and would never buy the product b/c of the commercial, and remembering them because you thought they were funny and would consider buying the product. -- The Chief, 00:42:20 10/29/11 Sat [1]

[> [> I am going to use my analogy like when the changed the Winston Cup to Nextel because of the cigarette tie in, just because I see the Tide car and like the tide car doesnt mean that I will use tide anymore than I would buy a pack of Winston Lites -- DOS, 09:42:04 10/31/11 Mon [1]

[> What I can't figure out about the toilet paper one is why isn't the extra TP in the bathroom?? -- Cathy F., 23:38:34 10/28/11 Fri [1]

[> Isn't it GEICO? I don't like the goldfish one, but they are designed so that you will remember them. The one about the daycare is designed to shock, but then again, I can't stand the thought of anyone trying to economize on child care. It's just wrong on so many levels. -- TH, 23:43:13 10/29/11 Sat [1]
