Subject: I agree about the accent, although I've heard worse. I really hate to hear bad, fake Southern accents--it's so annoying! But the thing that really made me mad, inside
In reply to: mkim 's message, "I hesitated to do that this week, given the general negative feedback I got, last week. I cant say this was a favorite episode....at all. I too liked Finn...however, being of southern descent, I think they need to hire a coach to help this guy actually have a southern accent...instead of someone trying too hard to have a southern accent. The points made my Finn were excellent, about being judged when your accent is heard...he seems to be brilliant. BUT please...work on a more authentic accent, or you'll lose the point IMHO, you were trying to make.......INside" on 19:13:56 11/12/11 Sat

Why did they make him use bad grammar? Bad grammar is NOT synonymous with a Southern accent. Someone who is highly intelligent and well educated such as this character would have learned to speak correctly, while keeping the accent intact. I live in the South, and contrary to popular belief, many of us can and do speak correctly! We do not murder the English language down here, we just make it more colorful! LOL He could have kept all his Southern phrases and colloquialisms and still gotten the point across that he spoke differently than the others. Grrr!
