Subject: This may be bordering sacreligious, but it would've been great to see how Mr.Darcy and Elizabeth Bennet fare after the wedding -- haha! Would have loved to see their lives and bantering as a married couple, with kids, how they interacted under fire and day-to-day. Of course, it would've been a challenge not to morph all their 'tension' into a hum-drum, boring relationship, but , that's the challenge of the story -- to keep the fire burning! Would be nice to see it played out, imo.

[> [> Emma Tennant wrote a sequel to P & P called Pemberley, which is exactly what you describe. I scanned the first chapter a number of years ago, and I believe it is well written. However, I was too much aware of a modern author affecting JA's distinctive voice, and found it offputting. Still, I think it got good reviews. -- Cece, 14:46:30 04/06/13 Sat [1]

[> [> [> Hmmn -- thanks for teh info. I'll look for it and give it a whirl for some beach reading this summer -- maybe... Part of me just wants to imagine and love JA's ending with no need to continue writing about the lives of these iconic characters. :) -- mj, 16:30:01 04/06/13 Sat [1]

[> [> [> [> Totally understandable... there's a LOT of P&P fanfic out there, and I've read some decent sequels (there's a writer on fanfiction.net called theredrobin that's written some truly beautiful stories - I love her writing), but as you said, sometimes it's better to leave things to the imagination. -- Dee, 16:44:50 04/12/13 Fri [1]

P D James wrote a mystery novel called Death at Pemberly, I think was the title , Darcy and Bennett are portrayed years later with kids.
