Subject: I agree, Cece. Thank you for your comments. I too am amazed that someone would actually ask CB about having work done and then publishing her comments in a public forum. No one is bashing CB. We used to go through this a lot during the series to the point that any comment about CB was jumped on by lurkers as bashing her. I hope that isn't starting up again. Our posters on the boards have differing views about all kinds of topics and although I may not agree with some of those views, I respect their right to post them without being labeled as "bashing".
In reply to: Cece 's message, "Hi everyone. Sorry, I haven't been back to the board since I made the comment about CB. Let me just clarify a couple of things, (Inside.)" on 03:21:15 01/18/13 Fri

I do agree with everything CC said. Anyone who has watched the series from "We the People", knows that CB HAS had breast enhancement. She went up two sizes and it was pretty obvious. Notthatthere'sanythingwrongwiththat.

And why would she admit to a fan (someone she doesn't even know) that she HAS had work done, knowing the climate for that type of information online and in publication. She doesn't know that the asker isn't a writer for the National Enquirer. She's not going to divulge that unless she wants to.

[> [> [> Hey Chief, you've been around longer than I have! (inside) -- Rapidly aging Cece, 19:58:31 01/22/13 Tue [1]

I find the reaction to my post quite odd. If I felt it necessary to support CB, (which I don't),I wouldn't have so vehemently denied the work she's had done as if there was something wrong with it. I would have said "Of course she's had work, and she looks wonderful. Plastic surgery helps people look healthy and youthful, and isn't that better than looking like something the cat dragged in? Isn't that what most of us aspire to, to look as attractive as possible, which is why we have fresh modern hairstyles, expensive makeup, flattering clothing, teeth capping, manicures and pedicures, push-up bras, and tummy flatteners etc? In 20 yrs time, we will all look this way, and we'll look back at old pictures and say, Wow, everyone looked so OLD back in the day. I love the plastic look, and CB, you go girl!"

See, I can argue either way, and there is truth to all of the above. Which is what scares me. But make up, clothes, and new hair dos, don't make us look as if we are from Planet Plastic, or made by Mattel. It worries me that in the near future, we'll all feel compelled to go under the knife, or risk looking like Mathuselah. I like looking at What Not to Wear, because Stacey and Clinton bring out the natural beauty of participants, regardless of their weight or physical attributes. Big or small, old or young, they all end up looking fresh and confidant, without knife, botox, fillers, implants, or collogen in sight.

So many in Hollywood have a natural beauty when they start out. That & talent (even more) is what leads to their success. The artificial faces we are seeing among the stars is grotesque to me. The noses are so narrow, I can't image normal breathing function over the long haul. Their cheeks look like someone implanted a plum under their eyes. The chins are pushed forward, they are in perpetual state of surprise, & their mouths & foreheads barely move. Each of these attributes, with the exception of the botox look, occur naturally, but when God creates a face, He doesn't include ALL those attributes on ONE face. He uses balance & symmetry to make the face look interesting & beautiful.

I hate to see these faces in 10-20-30 years, when their skin starts to sag. They'll have shallow indents surrounding spherical shapes. They'll look worse than some of the space aliens at the movie theater! I also agree that it sends out a terrible message to the children & young people in our society. The kids are told they need to be stick thin (anorexic), blonde/red/brunette (hair color of the season) & have all these weird facial features to be "BEAUTIFUL," when that couldn't be further from the truth. When I look at some of the actresses out there, I hardly recognize them anymore. For example, Meg Ryan used to be that adorable girl next door. I loved her in virtually everything she was in! Then she had "the" plastic surgery, the one that makes all the actress look nearly identical (i.e. the Joker face), and I no longer find her the least bit attractive or interesting. You can tell I'm not the only one who feels that way, as she's virtually disappeared from films. What she does now is dark & edgy & I have absolutely no desire to watch. I miss the Meg Ryan of 'You've Got Mail' or 'Sleepless In Seattle.' That Meg Ryan had star power, because you could imagine her as your best friend or next door neighbor--adorable, perky, funny & sassy.

I won't go into further mention of our JAG stars, but they've both at least dabbled. CB as you mentioned earlier & DJE had to have had Botox, since his forehead & upper lip don't seem to move in all the recent picture I've seen. At least Botox wears off, if it's over done!

I know Hollywood & sports figures say they don't want to be role models for our children, but like it or not, they are the face the kids see everyday. I wish we could get past the "plastic look" and age gracefully. That doesn't mean we can't change clothes, hairstyle/color, etc. Those are all external, temporary & reversible. The plastic changes, not so much. The actresses of old aged gracefully, & in the end, those who do, will be the true beauties in their 60-80/90's. These cosmetically "created" beauties (?) will look hideous as they age.

Having said all that, I think both CB & DJE are role models where it really counts. They both seem to be devoted to their families & helping those around them. Those "inner" beauties shine through far more their outer appearance! In the ways that really count, they are head & shoulders above most of the current stars in Hollywood!!!
