Subject: Classic TV

Discovered a new classic tv channel - MeTV -

I flipped through channels today and found - The Mothers-In-Law. LOL- I haven't seen that in years!!

With Kay Ballard and Eve Arden - what a hoot.

There must be so many good, clean fun shows in people's vaults that would be nice to see again

Any shows you remember and miss?

[> 2 shows I truly love are The Golden Girls. Which is on one of the Hallmark Channels. And Designing Women, which is on the TVGuide Channel. I also enjoy Dharma and Greg. One show I would love to see put back on is "Emergency" with Randolph Mantooth and Kevin Tighe. It was such a ground breaking show for it's time And Adam-12, Both were produced by Jack Webb, who produced and starred in Dragnet. -- Cathy F., 23:17:52 07/10/12 Tue [1]

[> The M-i-L was on in 1967, two years after I emmigrated to Canada. In 1965, I thought US/Canadian tv was amazing as we only had two channels in the UK, (BBC and ITV). (Inside) -- Cece, 04:24:26 07/11/12 Wed [1]

In Canada, we got I believe, 13 channels! Ozzie and Harriet (Nelson) and Gidget (Sally Field) were both still on. I got really involved with Peyton Place that was on twice a week. I hated it when it was pre-empted for Hockey overtime! However, most of my favourite comedies came later: Mary Tyler Moore, The Odd Couple, MASH, Barney Miller, WKRP in Cincinatti, early Cheers, Night Court, and of course, Seinfeld. One of my favourite offbeat dramas was St Elsewhere, and my fave romantic comedy was without a doubt, Moonlighting.

[> In our cable area we have a station called Antenna TV, and it does show Adam 12 and Dragnet - the 1967 Dragnet that is. Also Gidget, FlyingNun, and some of the really old 50's shows as well. -- Wolfeylady, 12:26:35 07/11/12 Wed [1]

[> SOAP, Benson, Hart to Hart, Matt Houston, Hill St Blues. I loved all of them. I watch Emergency and laugh as a 20 plus yr paramedic. And yes we all for fun flip the lid off our medications like Johnny did. And SOAP had to be a break out show, especially with Billy Crystal as a gay guy and babies being possed and having alien daddies. -- DOS - who has recently gotten back to her Trekkie roots and watching reruns. [> Medical Center, loved Chad Everett as Dr. Joe Gannon, Hawaii Five-O, book em' Danno!, I loved The Monkees. I ran home from school to catch Dark Shadows, even though it scared me to death. ;) -- mkim, 00:29:40 07/13/12 Fri [1]

[> [> oh how could I have forgotten Medical Center - I was just a 'tween' but even then knew the guy was a hunk! lol - And for some reason Dark Shadows never scared me - but I do remember liking the show and fighting with my mother that it wouldn't give me nightmares! lol -- chris k, 07:44:42 07/13/12 Fri [1]

[> I don't care for Me TV..it replaced the Retro TV channel on my cable, & I LOVED watching Emergency at nights, which is now gone. Did find Antenna TV, which is good with Adam-12, Dragnet & SWAT. Wish they'd give me Retro TV back! -- JenniferM, 16:47:53 07/13/12 Fri [1]

[> [> I get retro tv on a local channel - you may want to google and see what channel air it in your area and then see if you can watch it in antenna mode instead of cable mode. -- chris k, 03:33:29 07/14/12 Sat [1]
