(Since she had been very young, only sixteen human years, when her father had allowed her to be raped and shunned from their clan, she wasn't all that familliar with the ways of the female dragons. Of course she knew about their seasons, and the fierce rivalry of the males to get at them.. to the be one that laid the seed that would ensure a stronger next generation. What she was unfamiliar with were the ways of mated dragons. She had come to this castle upon the season of her friend BRee, to find a male in a state of frenzy ready to rip the throat of any other male, even his own brother, who wandered too close to the female. And poor Durgan, who was just as affected by Sabrina's season as Dane had been, had been powerless to do anything other than bar himself from the female. And now that she sensed the changes coming over her own body in response to becoming a mated female.. well, she was more than a little frightened. She didn't want to put the males through that sort of punishment, though she knew once the heat hit that she wouldn't care for anything other than getting her mate to make love to her constantly. And though that wasn't a frightening thought, it was the knowledge that she could not change to dragon form at will that frightened her. If she became pregnant.. she had no idea what would happen. And now, with her season approaching, she was running out of time to research moon sickness. A pile of books lay beside the armchair that she had dragged over to the hearth in order to warm herself. Being moonsick meant that she did not have the constant dragons fire within her that Dane, Durgan and BRee did.. though oft Durgan would come close enough to breath his fire into her, so that she could harbor some of his fire for warmth. When they became soulmated, she would have his fire all the time.. and that was a thought that she would have relished at that moent, being that she was frozen. She looked up as his voice entered her mind and smiled gently, though her expression faltered a little as she saw the way his nares had been flared a bit.. he knew.) Oh, aye? (Her lips mouthed the words without sound, then she rolled her eyes at her own stupidity and repeated herself through mindspeak. Oh, aye? The longer she remained with Durgan, the more she had lost her boston accent and was picking up not only his accent but the words he used most. Come keep me warm, love. She wanted him close, to ease the worry she felt.)
