[> As a child I wanted to be a nurse, but that changed with the realities of high school biology! Then I had this dream that I was going to work in politics & change the world. I should have been a lawyer or a teacher & I regret that. I wanted to make lots of money. . . .Inside for what I stumbled into. . . . -- Araninda, 08:24:33 03/24/11 Thu [1]

After bouncing around in government work, about 15 years ago I ended up as a consultant and administrator in the nonprofit world, which is where I am today. It is the right fit for me and sort of blends all of the occupations that I once considered. I get to take care of organizations and heal them, rather than patients. I get involved in the legal aspects of running the organization. I teach and supervise employees and volunteers. I interact and lobby with governmental entities and state political figures, so I try to get them to change my little corner of the world. And I conduct fundraising, so I am making lots of money -- just not for me personally!

Life takes funny twists and turns, but I believe that we are ultimately led in the direction we should go.
