Oh, btw, I don�t think this has anything to do with political correctness, it�s a money issue. The more athletes from all over the globe compete for medals, the more people watch. The fewer countries are dominant, the less interest is there in the outher countries, the less sponsor money you get/tv rights you can sell. I was looking it up, and I think it was THREE until 2004, or something. Not sure. And even if it's about money, it's still horrible. Oh, hey, you're the 3rd best in the world, but of the 24 who will compete for the medal, you'll be sitting out so Uzbeckistan can watch their 100th best in the world athlete on tv in prime time so their Uzbekistani widget sellers can have more air time for their ads.
