vert, lukey and I just checked out Wolf of Wall Street. I highly recommend you check that out first. Its one of my favorite movies of the year. Seems like a movie that would be right up your alley. It definitely stands apart from the usual crop of artsy films the academy nominates.

I watched Dallas Buyers Club a couple weeks back as well, which I also highly recommend. After watching that I thought Mcconaughey was a shoo in for best actor. Even though I hadnt watched all the other nominees I couldnt imagine anyone topping the performance he gave. After watching wolf of wall street (which coincidentally mcconaughey also had a brief but awesome part in), however, I actually preferred Dicaprio's performance over Mcconaughey's. Admittedly, I am a huge Dicaprio homer though so there may be some bias. But in the end I think people are overlooking the job Dicaprio did because he isnt playing a serious character in a serious movie. I like Mcconaughey too so I have no problem with him winning but if I had a vote I would have given the slight edge to Dicaprio.

Vert, after those two I would proceed to Gravity or Blue Jasmine (if you like Woody Allen movies). Havent watched 12 years or Nebraska yet. Dont waste your time on American Hustle.
