another week, another commit. psu up to #4 in overall class rank (already 9 commits, 6 4*).

Penn State has added a ninth commitment to its Class of 2015, landing a verbal pledge from Ashburn (Va.) Briar Woods wide receiver Brandon Polk. The junior prospect returned to campus on Tuesday after visiting over the weekend.

The 5-foot-9, 160-pound Polk chose the Nittany Lions over offers from Stanford, Virginia Tech, Maryland, Virginia, Wisconsin and more.

Polk was a first team all-conference selection as a junior. He caught 36 passes for 549 yards and five touchdowns.

He carries a three-star, 88 rating from 247Sports and is a four-star prospect according to the 247Sports Composite. The 247Sports Composite rates him as the No. 13 player in the state of Virginia and the No. 33 wide receiver nationally.

The junior prospect was a teammate of Penn State Class of 2014 quarterback signee Trace McSorley, who visited with him over the weekend.

"I'm excited to get to play with him again," said McSorley. "He brings speed that is unmatched, he has great body control and is a great route runner.

"We both worked a lot together in the offseason and we were able to develop a good chemistry between us. If I needed somewhere to go to make a play, I know that I could trust him. I have a lot of confidence in him. His speed is unmatched, and he has a great opportunity to make plays at Penn State."

Polk joins Juwan Johnson in a class that now features two wide receivers. He He is the first member of Penn State's 2015 recruiting class from Virginia.
