Doing pretty good. I'm black and blue and not very cute at the moment, but things seem to be healing up nicely. I go in to see the doc tomorrow to get the update with clean bandages. The worst part of the whole thing has not been the pain in or around my nose. That part has been pretty bearable. The congestion sucks too but was expected. But the absolute worst part is my sore throat from the intubation. I don't know what they did in the OR but my goodness I feel like they ran the train on me. Swallowing has been painful and waking up at night because my throat is drier than the Sahara has been shitty. Each night it gets it seems to get worse and so I have some complaining to do tomorrow.

In more of the falling apart front, I went to an orthopedic doctor about my knees, feet and shin splints. He basically shrugged at the feet and shin splints and said they will get better on their own, eventually. My knees, however, hurt when going up and down stairs and when I go down on my knees (hey-oh!) (i.e., when I kneel, fuckers). An x-ray and an MRI showed that I'm missing some cartilage under a portion of both knee caps. The doctor recommended injecting me with delicious chicken under the knee cap and taking supplements that are supposed to help make what cartilage I do have healthier. The chicken shots were crazy. Very weird. It's a gel made from the neck protein of chicken (I think) made to lubricate the ol' joints. Whatever it is, it seems to be making an improvement. Chicken, not just for eating anymore. Who knew?
