The looming building looked at home with the dreary, rain swollen clouds and lightening tearing up the skies above. It looked delapitated and seemed pretty empty, judgeing from the parkinglot. He swung the 1970 Plymouth Barricude 440 into one of the many spots of available. Freb had hooked him up with a ride for when he'd been released from the pen, and damn if he hadn't done a good job. The old girl was red as blood and every bit as fast as you could hope for. She had a nice little purr, too.

Getting out and locking the classic, he moved for the establishment ahead. He'd thought of just biting the bullet and heading straight to the old house he and Perg and all the crew had shared so many years ago, but in the end he had figured it would be best if got a drink before attempting that business. It would be hard to see the old house, if it even still existed. It'd been a home to them, and a couple of botched boosts had put and to it. He'd been an ambitious son of a bitch back then, and that had turned to carelessness.

Sense of duty had had him pay for the transgressions of them all. The Feds had hunted some after his capture, but had ultimately been satisfied with having him--the ringleader. It was a sacrifice that he had been willing to make for the sake of those he loved.

He wondered if Perg would still inhabit the old house. She was a strong woman, damn strong. He'd be lucky if she didn't tear him limb from limb if she got her sights on him. And she could do it, too. He had no doubt of that.

He moved up to the bar, putting a fivespot on the counter. "Vodka. On the rocks." A beer would be nice, but he didn't have the time to savor it right now. He watched the bartender move off to fill his order, falling back into thoughts of what he needed to do in the coming hours, and the past he'd be forced to face.
