Beautiful winner but I am still wondering what in the world happened with some of the girls that didn't make the top 5. This board is SO QUIET! There are many different organizations to attend Nationals with and at those Nationals, there are so many different events. I remember last year the Florida message boards were jumping all over their winner for saying she was a 'World Champion' baton twirler... If the girls are fibbing are on their paperwork then it is bound to catch up with them in interview. Leave it to the judges to decide if they can the girls are fibbing or what not. I know some of you are bitter that certain girls didn't make it the top 5, but i assure you that the top 5 girls' paperwork didn't get them to the top. And I can tell u that NONE of these contestants are official national champions. It looks like they were on a team that won a beginner national championship. That's REALLY a stretch! And very unfair to the true national champs! Most of these twirlers in Arizona have not even reached the advanced level of twirling. Smh... It is fair for the director to tell the judges no returners just like it is fair to tell them any other criteria for a contestant. If a returner fit the criteria that the director wanted, then she would have been chosen. Yes it is a transition but there is nothing "unfair" about this. The state director has ALWAYS had input into the winner whether we like it or not. (NT) -- the unfortunate truth, 10:36:02 06/27/14 Fri saying something like "no returners" is like saying no brunettes or no minorities NOT what the director is asked to charge the judges with. They are told to tell the judges things like "we really want someone who will do well at miss america" or "we want a great STATE " titleholder. OR even "talent is not important to us" but they are not supposed to blatantly dismiss any contestants (NT) -- hope thats not how it went down, 13:29:05 06/27/14 Fri Are you implying they said that? I can see how with the ranking system you could "keep" someone from winning based on your judges instructions, but the top 5 should be composed of the top 5 scores, so it's still surprising that Meredith didn't make it. That being said, Alexa seems to have a strong platform, and maybe that's what they were looking for. (NT) -- Want to hear more about the pageant and contestants., 16:24:06 06/27/14 Fri Top 5/10 scores only get you into top 10. Don't forget after prelims all scores are thrown out and judges give each girl only 1 score, the composite which counts for 35% going into finals night. Even if a girl looks consistent onstage, if the judges didn't "like" her in interview (not saying she did poorly in interview but that judges simply didn't click with her), judges are not going to give a 9 or 10 composite score which you need to get in order to place in top 5 ballot (click in) -- highly doubt new director said "no returners", 11:03:56 07/01/14 Tue I am SURE she did not say no returners... Hello ladies,

I am a private investigator looking for information on a woman named Amber Walter; I believe she was a contestant in the 2015 Miss AZ pageant, but dropped out of the preliminaries. I am looking for information on Ms. Walter for an active criminal case that involves her. I'm having a difficult time finding information about Amber Walter on these threads, but a search for her name does turn up results.

This is an important legal matter; if anyone has any information on why Amber Walter dropped out of the pageant, I could use your help. It is time for change and the time is now. Miss Illinois, a State Pageant under the Miss America Organization, needs new thought leadership and the only way to achieve this is to remove the Board Chairman, Amalia Schwerdtmann, and her Board Treasurer husband, Glenn Schwerdtmann. It is time to permit our local title holders to understand the true meaning of empowerment and achieve their personal and professional goals, while providing a forum in which to express their opinions, talent and intelligence. Our goal is to prevent future titleholders, volunteers and sponsors from experiencing the negativity associated with our state organization and forming a negative impression of the Miss Illinois and Miss America brands.

Ms. Amalia Schwerdtmann is the Board Chairman of the Miss Illinois Scholarship Association, but she acts as the Executive Director in everything but name. All communications to the titleholders (both state and local) and local directors come from her. She misrepresents her role within the organization with every email - using ILStateDir@missillinois.org. She leads all meetings, and has the final say in any decisions that are made. We are requesting that Ms. Schwerdtmann and her husband, Treasurer Glenn Schwerdtmann, be removed from their positions, so that the Director, Jane Anne Cruse, can act in her rightful role and lead this organization in a positive direction. The young women who participate in the MAO in our state deserve a leader who has their best interests at heart.

One of the ASU twirlers is competing at Miss Phoenix/Cave Creek (not Meredih) (NT) -- ..., 17:27:49 11/09/13 Sat and she is NOT an ASU twirler!!!! She is a student at ASU who happens to twirl BIG difference!! The photo posted by her is of her twirling in the ASU homecoming parade with some student organization that uswisely allowed her to wear a costume very similar to what the actual ASU twirlers wear. Make NO mistake this girl does NOT twirl like an ASU twiler and I have to question her decision making for her homecoming performance choices. Subject: The Nevada Situation

[ Edit \| View ]	Date Posted: 21:08:46 07/21/14 Mon According to multiple message boards, Nevada is sending two Outstanding Teens to MAOT due to the Nevada directors allegedly changing scores to keep certain girls out of the Top 5 to ensure a win for the girl who was crowned. As more details become available, it got me thinking. This situation has probably happened before and sadly this probably won't be the last, unless something is implemented to ensure it won't happen again. Some people are calling for scores to be made public while others are suggesting MAO Headquarters should independently audit each pageant. What would your suggestion be to make sure nothing like this were to ever happen again? Would you be against the scores getting audited after the pageant each year? Its a sad situation for everyone involved including the winner and the girl who didn't get her crowning moment. Just curious to see what other people think!

If her dancing isn't too strong, let's pitch in and get her an awesome choreographer- think Shea Sullivan! She has done wonders for dancers that didn't have a lot of technique! I remember a former Miss Florida, Sierra something, who wasn't very strong technically. They hired Shea to choreograph her dance and she was in the top at Miss America! Obviously Miss America is more concerned with entertainment, not technique, let's give them that! Go Alexa!
