Date Posted: 06:51:43 01/20/24 Sat Soo, how was everyones Christmas, were the children able to stay on or get back on Santa's nice list ? :) Hope you all had a good new year. SO hubby and I had discussed it, making some big changes this year, and it has been about 3 weeks now since implementing them. On Christmas, Santa brought each of the children their very own paddle, don't worry for their age, they are small thin lexan paddles that can easily be used over knee or in diaper position. So, after a VERY sound hand spanking when a punishment is needed, there are 10-15 paddle spanks as well before sitting in the corner. we hug and talk and comfort after corner time has finished and pray together of course. I will be keeping a wooden spoon in my purse, for occasions such as discussions needed at church, which is fairly common, we feel its important to instill certain behavior and manners in God's house. We also have decided to use nightly bedtime spankings, to allow a special bonding time to end the day, let the children release any stress of the day and sleep soundly, with a clean slate. It has made the bedtime routine alot smoother , I will say that much, and I feel so much more motherly and close to them. We also are trying to cut out giving warnings, as they know well enough to listen when we speak to them first time. Other changes include alot more bible reading as a family, we have a picnic or special meal together every sunday after church, inviting a few other church families, that has been wonderful. We have now put reward charts on the fridge, one for each child, with cute cartoon stickers. Good behavior or a good job with manners or chores, will allow them to put a sticker on the chart. 10 stickers mean a small inexpensive treat or toy as a reward, they seem more confident and such now which is so great to see. I am now praising for even small things, making it an exciting accomplishment. they love that. If anyone would like to learn more, feel free to email me ( i love receiving emails from other families) or message on here or both lol But i would love to hear if anyone else has any changes or resolutions in their homes this new year? God bless you all [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
