I'll be happy to answer questions for you Sweetie. But keep in mind, my answers are based on my experiences.

At the Schools I went to, you could get spanked or paddled by the Principal, Assistant Principal, Gym Coaches, and Teachers or Substitute Teachers. It was often up to the individual teachers whether they paddled or not. Some would prefer to send you to the office rather than paddle you themselves. Paddling could be done privately or in front of the class. Many times, I got spanked in front of the class. There were a few times I was paddled out in the hall. Which usually required a witness. There were a couple of times I got paddled in the office. By the Principal in Elementary School and a hand spanking outside. Then the paddling I talked about from the Assistant Principal in seventh grade. Paddling was generally done over your clothing. Although the The Gym Coach in Junior High might paddle a girl on her panties in the locker room, and I had one female teacher who would lift a girl's skirt to spank her. I did see a couple of boys get their pants pulled down and spanked on their underwear. But that was in the earlier grades. I also overheard two girls getting paddled in the locker room when I was in high school. It sounded like it was bare bottom. When I saw the Coach talking to them, they both had towels wrapped around them. I was there because I had to see the Coach about a test I had missed while being out sick. She asked me to wait in her office till she finished "talking" to the girls. I couldn't see it but I could hear the girls begging not to get paddled and then what sounded like a paddle hitting bare skin. That sound and their crying pretty much told me they got it bare.

Student Teachers and Substitute Teachers. There is a difference between the two. A Substitute Teacher is generally a Fully Certified Teacher who is not working full time. It could be someone who is close to retirement or just choosing to work part time as a teacher. They generally work on an "On Call" basis. They also may not handle a specific class or grade. They could be subbing for a First Grade teacher and then the next time they work, they might be subbing in a class at the High School. Now a Student Teacher, is generally a College Student working towards getting her Degree in Education. Student Teaching can be either optional or a requirement depending on the College. It's basically like an apprenticeship. You assist the Teacher you are assigned to and will as part of your instruction, sometimes take over the class while the Teacher observes. That way you gain both experience teaching and confidence dealing with kids. The length of time you work as a Student Teacher depends on the College and their Education Programs.
