Perhaps there is more skill involved in getting a nine dart finish than getting a hole in one. However, surely it is not a fair comparison by isolating one element of the game. I would say that it takes more skill to hit a golf ball 300 yards than to throw a dart 10 foot [or however far the standard Oche distance is]. Many comparisons can be made, but overall I would say golf is a much more difficult and skillful sport. Similarly, golfers [pro's at least] have to be athletes. That is not true of dart players. It would be much easier to become a good darts player than a good golfer.

Please don't take this that I'm knocking darts. I quite enjoy a game of darts, and enven enjoyed the runner-up spot at the ISA darts tournament last year. So I can play a bit. I just think that to compare darts to the majority of of other sports is a little ridiculous. Granted darts is difficult and you have to be very skillful to be a good player, but there's no real athletic ability involved, and as such it will never be taken seriously as a sport. You hmust admit that, if nothing else.
