Oh ye of little faith. When I saw the Yoda action figure with the light sabre, I instantly knew that he would be involved in some cool-arse fight scene. Although I thought he would've gotten involved in the arena battle (that we saw a glimpse of in the trailer). Seeing him go one on one with Count Dooku was just too sweet. But I always knew that he was a powerful Jedi. You wouldn't have other characters in the SW universe treating him with such respect if he weren't that good. What will be interesting will be seeing Anakin getting to that level in Episode 3, which he would certainly have to if Vader is to successfully bring about the fall of the Jedi and drive Yoda to exile in Dagobah. It'll be like Star Wars meets the Matrix, methinks. (:

But it served well as a visual aid in helping us understand Anakin's rage and hate. As I said before, regardless of whether or not we approve of the way he slaughtered those Sand People, we can at very least appreciate why he did it.

Yeah.

I disagree. IMO, the story formula was very much TESB-ish.
Let's look at some of the similarities between AOTC and TESB:

* Both movies are mainly a love story. Although Han an Leia's romance was funnier, with the way they seemed to get on each other's neck all the time ("I am not a committee!"). Anakin and Amidala's love was more complicated by the fact that it was forbidden, yet at the end, neither could deny the feelings they had for each other.

* Both movies unveil a great secret -- in TESB, it was the fact that Vader = Anakin. In AOTC, it was the Clone Army and the early precursors to the Empire.

* Both movies see Skywalker (be it Luke or Anakin) going to a strange world to rescue someone -- for Luke, he wanted to rescue Leia, Han and Chewbacca. For Anakin, it was obviously Obiwan Kenobi. Both Skywalkers lost their right hands in the process.

* Both movies end with uncertainty. They also both end with very similar visuals -- TESB ended with Luke standing next to Leia with the two droids on the side, all looking into a great expanse away from the camera. AOTC ended with Anakin standing next to Amidala with the two droids on the side, all looking into a great expanse away from the camera. I really liked that visual similarity.

And it is no surprise that they kept this kind of formulaic continuity, because Episode I pretty much followed a very similar formula to Episode IV -- Skywalker is found on Tattooine, there's a huge battle to overthrow and oppressive force followed by huge fanfare at the end -- a very Kurosawa-ish plotline.

pppffttt, whaddaya expect from a loser who gets defeated by a blind guy with a stick?

He did a pretty good American accent, though I guess that's not too hard for most Canadian actors.

Obiwan.

You liked the way he plowed through the window too, eh? (:

Sabre. Even Lucasfilm spells it as "sabre" (look at the credits). I didn't know you were American...

>oh, and maybe a nude

I personally would not like to see that, because Star Wars is supposed to be a fairy tale, and I think even a suggestive nudie scene would just ruin that magic. Besides, we see them getting married at the end of Ep2 and there's always a couple of years between each movie... plenty of time for them to get down (chikka-chikka-waa).

Lucas has long ago stated that he will NOT make a sequel trilogy. For one thing, he's too old. It takes three years to make a Star Wars movie -- he'd be working till his death if he made another three movies after Ep 3. Give the guy a break.

>I was a little disappointed that Jango died before Ep

I didn't mind the fact that he died. More importantly was how he died -- he fell at the hands of one of the strongest Jedi in the galaxy. Much better than the way his son gets taken out, namely by getting knocked into a pit by a blind guy with a stick. That totally sucks.
