Subject: Sail Back Saturday (it's Saturday somewhere!) - Script vs. Scene. What a difference one line could make. I'm going to put this all in the reply as it deals with A Tangled Webb 2. Enter at your own risk :-)

[> Brief Comparison -- Alicia, 00:08:42 08/16/14 Sat

I've linked the You Tube link, as its not one of my favorites.

In their room post Webb's return

Mac: How long have we known each other?
Harm: Eight years.
Mac: Seems more than that.
Harm: Yes it does.
Mac: And this is where we end up?
Harm: Alone in a cheap hotel.
Mac: I'm the only thing that comes cheap in this hotel. You can have me for free.

None of this has turned out the way Harm expected.

Harm: Mac, let's table this, whatever, 'this' is, for a while ok?
Mac: (stung) I think that's a very good idea. (recovering) But it's a conversation we're going to have to have one of these days. Because the way things are, neither one of us can move on with our lives. And neither one of us is getting any younger. (catches herself) Did I say all of that outloud? Maybe I do need therapy.

[> [> Glad they didnt put this one in. I hated it when anyone spoke about Mac that way or implied it, let alone Mac herself. It might have been great if Harm had stopped her from saying that, but we were deep in the Twilight Zone iit it wasn't likely. Back then, any insult, implied or otherwise was thought to be how the other felt, so the gulf widened and they each became less recognizable. -- mkim, 13:23:45 08/18/14 Mon

[> [> Interesting. Contrast this with the time she asked Harm what he was willing to give up to have her. -- JJ Ronda, 06:37:42 08/19/14 Tue

[> [> What was that writer thinking! That would have been such a cheap shot on top of the already insult to injury of how they had Harm and Mac relate to each other so cold and agitated with each other after he came to get her and saved her life! They were smart to omit it. -- mj, 16:29:42 08/20/14 Wed

[> [> I'm the flip side of this, depending on how it was delivered. I didn't see it as her calling herself cheap, but more of an I'm yours for the taking without all the "costs" that had come up on both sides previously. Ironically he had already given it all up en route, but none of the what will you give up etc, his fears of what it would cost him. With his reaction, she then became sympathetic to me..and it was a you had her, but you pushed her away vs. the way I viewed it playing out on screen. Not the best writing, but I saw the I guess intent there. It still would be one of my least favorite arcs regardless. -- Alicia, 22:22:34 08/20/14 Wed
