Subject: Note on "Garcia Ball"

Its been funny to see all of this "Garcia Ball"
offense talk. Its almost as if he has spawned some sort of new off the wall offensive scheme. I would say "Garcia Ball" is a mixture of the CFL with a slight case of tourettes, and I love it. I have been a Garcia supporter for a while now and I would agree with those that say that we should adapt our scheme to fit our talent, it only makes sense. But to throw out the WCO in favor of "Garcia Ball", as fun as it might be to watch is never going to happen and probly shouldn't. However to form a hybrid within the confines of the WCO might be a way to go.

Think about this. We have been calling our offensive scheme
predictable all season and it has been. But when Garcia is allowed to spread his wings things become anything but predictable and damn fun to watch.

I think part of the reason that our sudden change in the offense might have been so successful in the last game might be because of the stark contrast between the two styles. Basically the Giants didn't know what hit them and probly still don't. I think "Garcia Ball" for the most part is a very hard scheme to defend because the only way to really shut it down is to get to Garcia which is easier said than done. As long as Garcia is still on his feet and has to ball in his hands the play is still alive. However, I know Garcia is as tough as nails but playing this way too often could get him killed.

My suggestion would be to keep "Garcia Ball" as a change up option. If we keep switching on the defense they will most likely be on thier heels the entire time if all goes well. Plus playing "Garcia Ball" puts him in a rythm in general, this would also increase his performance in our normal system. Think of it as a switch from conservative Mooch Mid-West-Coast-Offense (which believe it or not has won us some games) and then to "Garcia Ball", The off the wall and exciting offense that our QB plays like a God in.

Installing "Garcia Ball" as our main offensive scheme just won't make any sense. Mainly because I don't think that there is another QB on the planet that can run it quite like Garcia, its as unorthadox as his playing style is. But it should be used more often to SPICE things up, something we have been lacking on offense all season until now.

Personally I think Garcia can be an effective WCO QB and for the most part(not always) he has been, but the O-Line has to be there for him in order for it to work.

I think if we reduce our mistakes and the Defense has a good day we can Take the Bucs. I also want to see how "Garcia Ball" is going to be used against the NFL's #1 Defense if at all.

Niners-21
Bucs-17

Hopefully Atlanta pulls off an upset but I wouldn't mind another shot at the Eagles to redeem ourselves :)
Niners !!!!!!!!! The Legend Continues !!!!
