First I have to say WOW,what a finish!!! I am so glad that I left my vcr running when I left for work yesterday in the 3rd quarter. Something inside wouldn't let me give up and even though my mind told me to turn it off when I was going out the door my heart said no,there is still a chance. So now I have that tape that I am sure I will be wearing out over the next week and probably for years to come!I was on the road in the middle of my commute as I listened to the last quarter and a half. Needless to say I almost drove off the road numerous times until near the end I think the guy in front of me thought I was going to ram him from behind!!!
I was kind of in a daze listening to the game and it was as if I wasn't really driving but as if I was driving in a dream state and the only thing in the world that had my attention was the game.I guess I am lucky that I got to work safely! About the last 20 minutes of my drive(after the game was over)I was a proud 49er fan with my 49ers hats prominantly displayed in my back window for all to see and from time to time another 9er fan or a whole carload of 9er fans would see the 49er logo's in my window and start honking their horns in pure joy!And when I got to work a number of Raider fans had rather sad looks on their faces ,1st of all because the hated Niners who defeated them earlier in the year were again victorious in one of the truly great playoff games of all time and secondly because I reminded them that the Jets are coming to Oakland next week rather than the pushover Browns and they know they now have a hard road to the SB that must go through the Jets and probably the Titans(if they are lucky enough to get past the Jets). A pretty great day for a Niner fan!!!

Now for Plummer. Many people have posted remarks about Plummer having a terrible game and have remarked that he isn't that good of a corner but if what I heard on the radio broadcast is true then he had a pretty decent game under the circumstances. They said that if this would have been a regular season game that Plummer would probably have not even suited up. He has a fairly bad groin strain and is having trouble changing direction which for a corner is a devastating injury. They said that the only reason he was in there toughing it out was because with Webster already out the Niners just didn't have anyone to take his place. If you noticed he usually had pretty good posistion but in the critical moments he just couldn't make that sudden change of direction to stay with the receiver. I don't know if they have been hiding this injury for the last few weeks or if it just happened in the last week but I hope it isn't bad enough to linger on and make him ineffective for next weeks game. And I hope Webster is back at 100 % for next week(especially if Plummer is still hampered).I think he is a very very good cornerback and if we can get another corner of his caliber next year in the draft or free agency we should be set at that posistion for years. GO NINERS!!! PS Mooch, you know you really don't have to wait until we get behind to unleash the dogs. Let the dogs hunt and you might find that they will bring you back some big game to put on the table(a SB trophy!!!)But if you tie a rope around their necks and tie them to a tree and only allow them a limited area to roam in then the odds of them being able to have a successful hunt are very poor.Don't hold the dogs back, let them loose and watch them go for the throat!!!
