Everything that can be said about how phenomenal the game was on Sunday has been said. For my own benefit, I was breathless afterward. This victory ranked right up there with "the Catch" and "the Catch II" for me. This victory is the right shot in the arm at the right time for the Niners. This is the confidence builder the Niners need. If the whole team believes they can win, they will.

The Bucs defense will be very tough this weekend. A couple of things concern me:

(1) Rumph MUST be more physical on the line. He is supposed to be a big, strong CB. He must jam the receivers.

(2) We must get more pressure on the QB. Our pass rush is pathetic. Yeah I know Carter has 12.5 sacks, but they never seem to come in the big games. We must use Peterson more as a pass rusher.

(3) All season I have been frustrated by the Niners' D on 3rd down. Not surprisingly, a stat. was showed on Sunday that we have the worst defense on 3rd down in the league!!!!! That MUST be corrected.

This has been a wacky season. Anything can happen. There really aren't any dominant teams this year. If we continue to play the way we did in the last quarter of Sunday's victory, maybe we can bring home our 6th Lombardi Trophy.

Incidentally, I have no problem being the beneficiary of a bad call. We are usually on the other end of the bad call. It's true that what comes around goes around. We've suffered many heart-breakig losses due to bad calls or Lady Luck favoring the opposition. This time we won out--and we deserved to. Hopefully Lady Luck smiles on us some more. Time will tell.
