He paused at the man's inquiry. He hadn't even considered where he would stay when he arrived here. The trip had not been anticipated...in fact, it had been made on the basis of a split second decision. He hadn't even bothered to pack a bag before leaving his rundown little studio apartment in Chicago. A taxi had taken him to O'Hare Airport. In a couple hours time, he'd been on the plane destined for Cascade City. It all felt like a dream, and now that he was here, the reality of the situation was beginning to settle in. What in the hell was he thinking coming here this way? Some things are better left in the past and he was an idiot for taking the risk of coming back here and reopening old wounds.

He turned back to look at the man in the alley, shoving his hands in his pockets. "No, I guess I don't, now that you mention it." He says carefully. "Is the hotel in town still in business?" He'd noticed the city seemed oddly quiet when he'd arrived...with many 'For Sale' signs in the shop windows. He hoped the hotel would have stayed at least. Otherwise, his options were about to be pretty limited.
