Author: Personally I prefer prizes just for top 3. Can’t think of any sport that rewards top 5
Subject: The sash along with medals just collect dust and take up space at home. Happy for my daughter just to compete. I know we pay a lot to enter but it also costs a lot to run a championship.
In reply to: Build it and they will come 's message, "Melbourne festival championships, lovely venue and wonderful adjudicators but seriously it's a championship, how about some decent prizes, sashs for top five not just the winner and the small medals in a plastic container are a joke. This should be a major event as it's only a few weeks before the start of the state championships but for the dancers that came all the way from WA it was a joke. Sashes use to be given for top five at this event and the medals have had their day , let's make this a great event in 2023 and get more interstate competitors over" on Wed, Jul 27 2022, 17:16:22"

  • While you are allowed to be disappointed, I think it is a bit much to expect a sash/big trophy just because people choose to travel from interstate. I think one big Championship per state works best, as you are more likely to get all the interstate dancers at that competition, rather than spread over a couple of events. E.g. if I were travelling to Melbourne for a competition, it’d be the McAleer as I know there’ll be dancers from all over Australia. -- -, Fri, Jul 29 2022, 15:40:09"
  • Pacific Belt competition would be my choice. Interstate competitors, amazing big wave shaped trophies for top 3, coloured wave glass/crystal insert medals amazingly run beautiful competition. Beats the rest hands down. (NT) -- Dance family, Fri, Jul 29 2022, 17:55:41"
  • Now that AIO no longer in QLD, what is considered to be their biggest private run championship? (NT) -- Are Feis Lunasa or Sunshine State with going to? Do they have any other big ones up there?, Sat, Jul 30 2022, 7:07:53"
