Charcoal-dipped ears pricked forward once again, listening carefully and hearing what he had truly not wished to hear. It seemed that no matter what position he took, Adrian would contradict him. Reasoning was Shazaam's strong suit, but it seemed that any attempts at logic or a peaceful resolution would not be found. Suppressing a world-weary sigh, the bay geared himself to answer the questions posed to him and to debate what had already been said.

"What I meant was that I was bred and raised for my position. To accept the responsibilities that came along with the kingdom."

His simple reply left much to be desired, but the auburn stud didn't elaborate, choosing to move on to the rest of Adrian's points.

"Let me ask you this, Adrian. Are you more concerned about how your actions appear to the Evils or about their welfare? It matters not who battled whom or what everybody was doing. If this mess can be settled with the least amount of casualties or injuries, no one will care if either you or I drew blood."

The renewed sense of confidence behind the dark bay's words set Shazaam even more on guard. What did Adrian have up his sleeve that could make him so cocky? Only time would reveal that, the Light King mused.
