I am so excited about the age announcement for Miss America preliminaries and Miss America. While I agree Suzi did an amazing job this week and was stunning, I think we would have had a Miss America if we had sent Christal Potter or Sydney Sill. However, I guess the Miracle Maker Award is more important to South Carolina and understandably so. Please do not take that as a bashing! I just would love to see another Miss America from South Carolina - 1993 is far too long!!!! I hope both of these girls will return and give it another try. I know that Sydney will, however, I am unsure of Christal's age. I would just urge her to stay true to herself and pick her own clothes and song! She is beautiful to the core and I do not even know her other from watching her over the past two years and watching her posts online.

I'm not sure that either one of those two would have placed better than Suzi. This is NOT a slam on any of these three girls (they are all great and deserving) - but it was clear on Sunday night that talent and beauty didn't count for as much as we think. They were clearly looking for some "intangible" factor (that, apparently, Miss ND possesses) that does not translate in onstage competition. Just my two cents.

[> [> Subject: These two girls would've fallen completely flat at Miss America. They have not developed their platforms in a way that can hold up amongst those contestants nor do they have educational or career accomplishments that would make them stand out. You people are completely missing what Miss America is looking for and the girl they crowned perfectly exemplifies that.

Does anyone know what the new age requirements are for this year?

Yes 1993 is much too long. Lord, if ya'll wait much longer your veins will turn into vinegar.

This was a very competitive year for Misa America in Atlantic City. Suzi Roberts did an amazing job. Her top 10 finish is something for those of us in SC to be proud of.

[> Subject: I certainly hope that Taylor Miller competes again this year. I would like to see her as Miss Greater Greer. And then I would like to see Sydney Elizabeth Sill as Miss Clemson.....and yes, that means that they basically would be trading crowns and sashes !
