 I grabbed her arm and she just turned to look at me like she didn’t even really know me. I just let her go. I know she had to be either really mad or really hurt or maybe both. I just looked at Lyla and she didn’t know what to say at all. “I hope you’re happy Ly. I mean dang…” I got up and went and grabbed the Dynasty notebook. “What? You’re just as at fault as I am girl. I mean, we both discussed this”
“So! I mean you talking like it was so crucial man. You must don’t like her that much or something. She was kinda right as far as us needing to focus on our vocals than how we look. I mean, that’s what people will like” I explained. She didn’t say nothing. She just walked off and headed home leaving Nicole and me.
“I hate this. I hate we have to go through this. I mean, how come I didn’t even understand where you and Ly came up with that? I don’t understand. Why black people seem to want to hurt each other so badly, but we want to stand up for our “blackness” when we fight each other anyway?” She asked looking just as confused as anybody else that didn’t just understand. I just shrugged my shoulders and said…”Practice is cancelled. See you Wednesday” I went in the house after that. I didn’t have anything else to say. I felt mad enough.
