Ciao! I read through your reply and a few points (well...maybe more than that)popped into my head. So do not be surprised if this post is not entirely relevant to your response.

Well...hm, I REALLY hate it when people call Subaru and Kamui foolish... Because that states that people are not looking at these characters with open minds. Being a psychologist-in-training and a mental patient myself, I think I can safely deduct that Subaru is not 100% 'with it'. I mean, who other than the Hanged Man himself would hang suspended for nine years caught in a self-inflicted rut? And fucking look at the guy...he's morbidly obsessed with a serial killer who /slaughtered his sister/, goddamnit.
And being a 25-year-old virgin... *shudders* I lost mine when I was in high school, for shit's sake. I like to think that Seishirou and Subaru did the bang-thing sometime between X8 and X16, since they seem awfully familiar with each other at that point.... Hmm... Kamui's case is MUCH easier to understand. I remember being fifteen, and figuring out yourself and your sexuality at fifteen is NOT a walk in the park. When Fuuma was, well, Fuuma, I can see why Kamui would be confused and nervous when Fuuma handled him in such intimate ways--I mean, he hasn't even had experience with sexual contact, let along homo! And then, just when Kamui was starting to warm up to him, Fuuma went all Manson/Hitler on everyone's ass and began to torture the kid. So now, being this teenager who can barely figure out life as it is--let alone having the lives of billions of people thrown on his shoulders, being a virgin, and was confused about his feelings for Fuuma the entire time--Kamui is forced into a twisted sadomasochistic relationship. VERY sad, if you ask me. But true. The same goes for most abusive relationships. The victim is usually torn between suffering and loving the person who is victimising them. That is why abuse is so common, and seldom reported in a short time.

I like all the X pairings, personally ^^, except for FuumaxKakyou (I love Fuuma but can barely stand Kakyou) and KotorixKamui. ICK. Imagine the torture the poor boy would go through...

Definitely. *nods* I agree. I like to think of Kamui as a sort of godlike, angelic figure (*knocks herself in the head* Hellooo! He's jesus, for shit's sake!) whose beauty is so remarkable that he is admired by nearly everyone in the series (as well as its fans ^.~). I am sure one would find it EXTREMELY hard to keep their horomones at level in the presence of someone that striking, especially one so maladjusted as Subaru.

Oh, do share! I love discussions ( as you can see from the MASSIVE overabundance of text I put here... ^^;;; sorry)! Thank you for your thoughts on the subject, I'd love to hear more!
