 I still have Black Prince [even after a year of trying to sell her]. I fitted the Pacific Light windgear. The problem was the the Trapper tends to develop quite strong weather helm as the wind picks up, and the vane couldn't really cope. And as Brian says, in coastal waters the wind isn;t really steady enough. The Autohelm works fine, and I use that all the time. Don't know what the current draw is, but I've never had a problem.
