But dammit Nick, I've never had such precision with my GPS track - I'm happy to get 50 metre accuracy with my Garmin and BlueChart. No complaints, I used to cross the North Sea regularly with only an ancient transistor radio for RDF beacon bearings on LW. Lost? I was always lost, especially when I reached the Dutch coast and knew I had to turn right until I found somewhere to recognise. Yes, I know, I'm old, antique even.

But I'm still sailing and so many of my waypoints are dynamic ones based on an optimal sailing course conditional on the wind direction and not usually the same as the ones of "the motor boat boys" - who are usually heading for the next marina while I am aiming for a quiet anchorage.
