Isobel felt Valhorek step up beside her and ask, "Is that a sketch of the ruins?"

"Si," she replied, continuting to work before some fool accidentally eradicated the map by walking on it or the wind blew parts of it away. "It occurs to me that we might find a more portable version to be useful, no?" She finished off the map and turned to smile at the healer. Her eyes flicked to the falcon Valhorek held cradled in his arms.

“This is Jamal,” he said. “I found him wounded in the desert, and with a bit of luck, I hope to have….” He stopped in mid-sentence, looking puzzled. “It suddenly dawned on me that I have no idea if Jamal is a male or a female. Might you know by any chance?”

Isobel looked at the falcon closely. "I do not know for certain with this type, but with many birds of prey the males are smaller and darker than the females. Of course, not having seen both I do not know if this is a small bird or not. It does look young, however. See the downy feathers still poking out on the breast? It is probably an older fledgeling." She looked toward where Laurel and Erlic were talking. "I think it might be best to keep it away from Laurel's new cat, no?" She grinned.

She tucked her pen back into her pack and held the parchment out until the ink dried, then rolled it up and tucked it in there too. She chuckled as the falcon nibbled affectionately on Valhorek's finger. "I would say your Jamal is perhaps hungry, Doctór."

*~*~*~*~*~*

Barry didn't want to bother Corum while he was busy with Tia. "'Bout time that berk got a little action," he muttered. Since the addle-cove was busy and the centaur chits were all snuggled in their beds (he wondered if they slept laying down or standing up) he decided to check out the camp and see the sights.

As he floated around a large palm tree he noticed something glinting in the sand nearby. He floated over to have a better look and discovered to his surprise that it was a somewhat large mirror half buried in the sand. "Now that's somethin' you don't see every day..." he noted.

He zipped down to have a quick look at his reflection (he wanted to make sure the Jann babes hadn't pulled a sneaky like drawing flowers on him like that gal had done that time a while back... he shuddered). But when he tried, he almost fell over. Instead of a skull floating there peering into the top half of the mirror, he saw a man gesturing wildly at him. "What in the planes is that??? Hello? Hello cutter, can ya hear me?"

Evidently the berk couldn't hear him, because he didn't stop gesturing and it looked like he was frightened of something. He kept looking back over his shoulder. Wait... the berk wasn't gesturing... he was banging his hands on his side of the mirror! "Hang on, ya berk! I'll be back pronto with some help!"

Barry hurried back to camp shouting, "Hey you cutters there's a guy trapped in a mirror or somethin' out there! I'm not sure but I think he's tryin' to get out!"
