Hello Cathy,

I appreciate your concern and your unhappiness with the situation that you have with your pup. I am in no way defending anyone here - pups should have proper temperament and health.

I do have some problems with your rash generalization about all SABT breeders, however. Who do you believe that JB and other USBA members purchased much of their breeding stock from? I believe he has many dogs from SABT lines from south africa. Are you also saying that Mouzer, Ysterberg, Grassland, Gretchen, Bullet, Induna, Dopper, Baden breeders and many more I have not mentioned also have poor quality boerboels because they are SABT members? After all, wasn't Ellen a big USBA breeder?

I would say that you should state your problems with the breeder, period. That being said, it is possible for EVERY breeder to produce a pup that is not what they wanted it to be. This does not make them a bad breeder. What is important is if they will replace the pup with another of good quality. The guarantee was with Robin, and it is my understanding that she did get a replacement puppy. We (breeders) all know that there is no way we can tell which pup is going to grow up to be the best, if we did then we would all have fantastic dogs with no problems and being a good breeder would be easy! That is why we have replacement guarantees, due to the risks involved with puppy development and in case the pup does not develop as we though it should/would.

I would suggest you have the pup xrayed by penn hip or OFA to get a diagnosis. Did you get the pup with breeding rights or as a pet? I cannot speak for Robin here, but have you asked her to take the puppy back since you are obviously so unhappy with him?

Thanks,

Gina Gramlich
