Subject: They were celebrities to me at least

Ok, so I have interacted twice in my life to people who I considered to be celebrities. Many, many years ago when I was much, much younger I was working in a very small wally mart store in a teensy little town in Arkansas. One particular day, I had the privilege to be cashier for a man I instantly recognized. He was the host of a show on the public broadcasting channel that showed and talked about old movies. Think TCM, but just a show and not a whole channel. I told him I recognized him and loved the show. He would dress up as the usher at an old time movie theater in the red outfit and the little pillbox hat, and he would introduce the movie, telling some history about it, maybe some trivia, and then the movie would play. He was shocked that I watched the show at all as I was a lot younger than the expected demographic, but he was super pleasant, and gave me an autograph. He also told me I was the first person of any age to ever ask for his autograph. I went home so excited that night.
Similarly, many years later, I was working in a gift shop at a large world famous amusement park in the northern part of my country and got the chance to meet the last four original members of the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra. They were shocked that someone my age knew their music, as again, I was considerably younger than their usual audiences. Once again, I got autographs, and even a hug from one of the guys who told me that I reminded him of his grandson, who apparently was the only other person my age who liked their music.
Both times I had a very polite conversation, pleasant overall experience and wonderful memories. I'm in doubt that any of the men are still around so there is no social media presence involved, but I still remember both events fondly, and as I said, they were celebrities to me.
I also interacted once with Cassandra Peterson while working in that same little gift shop, but I didn't realize that I had just spoken with Elvira Mistress of the Dark until someone told me later. I do remember she was quite fascinated with the resin statues of elves and fairies and the medieval castle table top fountains I had prominently displayed in the store. I later heard that she had commented about what a nice time she had in my shop, given that I had not gone 'crazy fan boy' on her like so many others usually do.
