Subject: The movie "Remember the Night"

Several months back I posted something about the 1940 movie "Remember the Night" starring Barbara Stanwyck and a very young Fred MacMurray. This movie was what the JAG ep "Answered Prayers" was based on (with a different ending, of course). Well, since it is now the Christmas season, it is finally on TV again. TCM will air it at 9:45 Wednesday night. So set your DVR if you like feel-good, romantic movies. Besides, I think it's interesting to see how much they pulled from the movie when they wrote the JAG ep.

Downton Abbey is gearing up and I cant stand the thought of missing a minute. BTW, usmgrad...Have you read Vince Flynn's latest?? -- mkim, 18:41:22 12/07/12 Fri [1]

I can't imagine life without my TiVos! I just tell it what shows I want to watch, and it records them every time they come on, so I never miss anything. When I'm ready to watch a show, I just go to my list and select it. And if I have several eps of a particular show in there, it groups them all into a folder with the show's title as the name.

And then there's the ability to rewind and fast forward. If you didn't understand what someone said, you can just rewind it - even if it is live. And if you are watching something you already recorded, or if you are watching live but you rewound and are now "behind" the live broadcast, you can fast-forward through the commercials in order to catch up. It's awesome!

I can't speak for the cable company DVRs, but we have had multiple TiVos for years and they are super easy to program. The software is very intuitive. I don't think I have ever had to refer to a manual.

I know how you only like happy endings (I'm the same way). I will tell you that since this is primarily a romantic drama, yes it has a happy ending. However, in regards to her sentence (she starts out as a thief, just like the JAG ep), that part is left ambiguous. Just thought I'd warn you to not get to caught up in the legal side of it, because that is not really the main point of the movie.

[> [> [> LOL - my reputation preceeds me - : ) - I'm okay with some of the older movies- One of my favorite Barbara Stanwyck movies which has an odd 'happy ending' is No Man Of Her Own - I'm looking forward to seeing this one - Another tart is recording it for me since I don't get that channel -- chris k, 19:50:58 12/09/12 Sun [1]
