Subject: There is a new series coming on "Last Resort". I could picture HAE on this show. In fact I could picture him in alot of quality shows but nothing is happening. I doubt he will ever be the captian or commander of his own series again. To tell you the truth, I thought GCB was a waste of his talent. Sorry, but I need something of more quality from him. Geeze, Admiral Boone has faired so much better!!!! Sorry to be critical but another year without him is torture.

The MOST *mis*used and *under*used actor out there, IMO. -- The Chief (but in my head, he's been cast in some wonderful roles in the books I've read, or ideas I've imagined myself. I maybe wrong, but I don't think he's looking for a big role anymore. I think he got burned out on JAG fighting with the Gorilla. I think he wants to work just short days, unless the project is really to his liking. I think thats why he's taking cast roles instead of Main Character roles. Not that I wouldn't love to see him in a main role. I don't remember this being an issue, DOS. While I support any wife who wants to protect family time, I don't think NC was a detractor. I think part of it was he wanted a break for a while, to spend time with his kids, and hoping not to be typecast so maybe he turned down a few things right after JAG was over. An actor with a good agent gets auditions. Whether or not an actor books the audition is another thingf entirely. Just because he once had a hit show doesnt mean people are standing in line to give him a role. IMO some bad decisions were made on his part when it came to auditioning for stuff he didnt fit. DJE wanted more money, and you-know-who didn't want to give it to him (as we know).
I've always thought that making Singer a recurring character was DPB's way of giving DJE a raise without changing his contract.
As time went on, it didn't work out that way, but he certainly gave it a try.

So, SOMETHING had to happen, IMO, for him to be able to stay happy and proficient, and that meant getting Nanci, who I thought was a trained actress, a role. It seemed a happy compromise. It probably would have been very hard for her to connect into another show or role while trying to be a Mom and keep up with the demands of living away from 'home', etc. As for her not being 'pleasant' -- well, I'm not so sure I would know how I would be if thousands of women lusted after my DH! lol!

I agree w/you on this. DJE just hasn't been in anything that's a keeper and not sure where I read it but your right in that almost everything he was in there had to be a part for Nanci.
