Subject: DOS I don't know if his wife killed his career. But she as hell didn't help it any. I agree with you about her having to be in things he auditioned for. I never could understand how The Gorilla was talked into letting her on JAG. I think DJE made it a point in his contract. Otherwise she would never had been on the show.

DJE wanted more money, and you-know-who didn't want to give it to him (as we know).

I've always thought that making Singer a recurring character was DPB's way of giving DJE a raise without changing his contract.

As time went on, it didn't work out that way, but he certainly gave it a try.

So, SOMETHING had to happen, IMO, for him to be able to stay happy and proficient, and that meant getting Nanci, who I thought was a trained actress, a role. It seemed a happy compromise. It probably would have been very hard for her to connect into another show or role while trying to be a Mom and keep up with the demands of living away from 'home', etc. As for her not being 'pleasant' -- well, I'm not so sure I would know how I would be if thousands of women lusted after my DH! lol!
