Subject: Dick Clark's Death

Oh, my, another legend has died. Dick Clark, "America's oldest teenager", who launched the careers of so many singers and musicians, died today at the age of 82.

For more than 30 years, American Bandstand. And of course his New Year's Eve spectacular, plus many other TV shows.

How many of you, like me, learned to dance by watching American Bandstand?

Rest in peace, and thanks for the memories.

[> I remember watching American Bandstand back in the late 50's with my oldest brother. WOW the music was so great back then. I learned all the dances with my brother's girlfriends. I remember doing the "Stroll" with them in the living room. RIP Dick Clark!! -- Cathy F. this makes my heart hurt:-(, 18:28:22 04/18/12 Wed [1]

[> [> Yes- a very big and sad loss, indeed. RIP Dick Clark- thanks for *all* your many contributions to the music/entertainment world. He's been around all my life- it won't seem "right" or the same without him now. -- Matou/Carol, 21:24:51 04/18/12 Wed [1]

[> I cried a little when I read this today. He was part of my childhood. I always rang in the new year with Dick Clark! -- Theresa, 23:34:50 04/18/12 Wed [1]

[> He was a gentleman, even though he hobnobbed with all those musicians and rock stars. I'm from Philly and watched American Bandstand faithfully with my older sister & brother. We would try to see if we knew anyone on the show -- dancing in the background/ being interviewed/ asked a question by Dick Clark.. Even if someone we knew even KNEW someone on the show, THAT person would be treated like a celeb! LOL! It was well-known in the Philadelphia area that Dick Clark was kind, humble, and generous -- no matter how famous he became later and wherever he moved onto. RIP, eternal teenager! -- mj, 04:15:37 04/19/12 Thu [1]
