We would try to see if we knew anyone on the show -- dancing in the background/ being interviewed/ asked a question by Dick Clark.. Even if someone we knew even KNEW someone on the show, THAT person would be treated like a celeb! LOL! It was well-known in the Philadelphia area that Dick Clark was kind, humble, and generous -- no matter how famous he became later and wherever he moved onto.
