Penn State's first Junior Day of the James Franklin era is still playing dividends, as the Nittany Lions picked up another commitment stemming from the weekend on Wednesday. Whitehall (Pa.) running back SaQuon Barkley has flipped his pledge from Rutgers and is now on board with Penn State.

Sources confirmed the news to Lions247 on Wednesday afternoon, and Barkley followed that with a tweet.

The 5-foot-11, 195-pound junior originally committed to the Scarlet Knights in September, but picked up a handful of scholarship offers after his junior year saw him rush for over 1,500 yards.

Boston College, Connecticut, Indiana, Michigan State, Missouri, North Carolina and Pittsburgh were all recruiting Barkley as well.

The junior is the No. 7 prospect in the state of Pennsylvania according to the 247Sports Composite, which rates him as a four-star athlete. He is the No. 21 running back in the country according to the measure.

Barkley becomes the fourth member of Penn State's Class of 2014, joining safety Jarvis Miller, offensive lineman Ryan Bates and defensive end Kamonte Carter.
