John, you must have been reading "Little Red Riding Hood" instead of the trascript.

O.C. Hinson "claimed" that Price was doing "wrong things."

Price asked what "wrong things" he was doing."

O.C. said that Price had been printing things that were not true.

Price said that what he had printed was true, and asked for an example.

O.C. said that, as an example, Price had printed that the First Presidency was going to take the NCC into the NCC and that this was not true.

Price said that it was true (and in fact, contrary to Hinson's insistence, it was indeed true, as everyone and his dog now knows for absolute certainty as of this very year.) Price asked Hinson if there was anything else, and Hinson said there was a whole lot of stuff, but that Hinson just couldn't think of it at the moment.

John, don't you think that it was strange that the only statement Price had printed that Hinson claimed was false is and was actually true? If the centerpiece of the entire case is absolutely false, I'd like to get my hands on information from other such meetings.

Hinson lied. Price did not. And Hinson could not even think of anything else to berate Price about.

Call it whatever you want, John, but a lie is a lie. The arrogance and bullying in Hinson's actions and words case is palpable, especially in the face of Price's humility. Had I been in Price's shoes, I doubt that Hinson would have been able to tell such outrageous lies to my face and not expect me to say nothing any stronger than what Price said.

The net result is that Price was silenced for telling the truth. Remember, all the members of Cainite gang had to swear by their heads that they would not tell. Anyone who exposed the secrets of the Cainite cult was beheaded, and the other cultists said that he deserved it, surely, because he broke his oath. Price got the ax, figuratively speaking, because he told the truth about what was going on.

Now, in defense of yourself, John, would you care to tell us anything that Price printed that actually wasn't true, so that you can justify your claim that Price had done something morally wrong that he needed to repent of?
I'm not going to hold my breath, because a true answer to that question does not exist, or it would be in the transcript.

The hearing between Hinson and Price was like the meeting between the dissatisfied pirate crew and Long John Silver in "Treasure Island." The crew presented Silver with "the black spot" to let him know that he wasn't a good enough pirate and plunderer to lead them and that they wanted to replace him. They even tore a page out a bible to get the paper to write this indictment.

If you wish to say that Price deserved to walk the plank because he was not a competent ecclesiastical pirate, then you and I will be in perfect agreement. Pirates have a right to order their ship as they see fit -- so long as there isn't a man-o-war close by.

That's what happened to W. Grant McMurray. He got the "black spot."

And it can happen to you too, if you continue being an cabin boy on this pirate ship. Just don't quote scripture and try to take the high moral ground. You don't have any land legs to stand on.

George
