I think we're on the same wavelength. I believe I read that same recent interview with Charlie. It left me with the conclusion that he's brainwashed himself over the years into thinking he and the Glimmers were justified in treating their mentor the way they did. His statement that "we were carrying him," and "we couldn't figure out what to DO with him" made them all look like martyrs, or something.

To be fair, it's quite true that they were just young men at the time, and back then the problems with mood and seizure disorders were poorly understood, but to villainize someone 40 years later over having these problems is cruel. Just saying.
