 "SHIT, SHIT, SHIT!" Alex smashed the controls over and over in disgust, realizing that the FEIF-17 might be totally dead. He looked out his cockpit to get a quick view of his surroundings before getting back to fixing his ship, only to realize that there was a cloud of enemy fighters sweeping this quadrant of his allies, and a small squad of three of them had noted his position and were now headed for his disabled ship. He nearly panicked, but kept himself under control, smashing frequently on the initiate programming button. Suddenly, the ship shuddered, sending sparks through the cockpit, and then the engines screamed to life.
"OH YEAH! HERE I COME BABY!" Alex screamed as his hands returned to the SLIDE controls. The enemy's ships were outclassed by his standards, being early TIR scout ships (Turbine Intersystem Recon). Lights flashed in Alex's cockpit, showing the damage report. "Looks like this fight's almost over for me... but let's finish it with some fun." He smashed the right SLIDE upwards causing his back right booster engine to roll the ship off on it's left axis, completely evading the lead TIR ship and going head on into one of its wingmates. The rounds from his Ion cannons rammed straight through the rookie's cockpit, and created an impacted explosion that tore the ship apart.
Alex smashed both SLIDE controls upwards, causing his FEIF-17 to flip totally around and bear down on the backside of the two remaining ships. In a violent volley of Pulse cannon the two exploded in turn, as their engines ripped wide open and sent shattered remains into the stratosphere. Alex quickly gauged his fuel cell supply and sped up, slipping along on the gravitational field of the planet below him and skipping out into interstellar space far removed from the battle. It was the fastest and most effective way to retreat in a hurry, and within 5 minutes he was landing in his hanger aboard the ESS Unitary. His debriefing flashed across the display panel in front of him, and below it was a note to report to his CO. He sighed. "Time for the fun part..."
