The advanced/ex competiiton is at the discretion of the organisers anyway, and consensus seems to have it that it will be reduced to merely a combined final this year. Both IVDA bidders were keen to run it similarly to this year, which was considered a success.

It is not meaningful to say that the timetabling issues occur in the ballroom events. They occur over the whole competition. Given that this year a whole hour was taken up by offbeat, which is meant to simply be a bit of fun at the end of the day, it was considered an obvious place to make time. This was agreed by the vast majority of participants at the meeting, and the proposal made in advance.
