Subject: I was always very frustrated with Mister Wesley

I liked Wesley and all, but he just could not get out of his own way.

But yes, his journey from woman to decent man, to hostile angry man, to gay catalog model was one of the most unusual.

No, no, no. I like Wesley. I really do. I was just sooooooo disappointed in him when he stole Angel's baby. When he trusted his prophecies over his personal knowledge of Angel, he sank back into the worst habits of Wesley the Watcher. That's exactly the kind of thing that made Buffy say to him "I'm talking about watching my lover die. I don't know what you're talking about." And I had just been soooooo hoping during that season that Wesley was learning that. That your actual relationships to people are what matter. I thought that was just a really sad, nearly tragic moment to see Wesley collapse so thoroughly into his old worldview. Not that I couldn't recognize and see why he did it, but we all knew he was wrong. I don't even think Xander would've done that.
