Date Posted: 6/01/08 8:49pm Can anyone help RE: The SS. Essex Convoy In 1925 the lady enquires relative Joined this ship at Barry Dock, South Wales. She describes him as Captain Churchill, whom went to sea aged 15. Apparently the ship was involved in a Mutiny of / in South Africa. Not certain if he joined the ship at 15 or went to sea at 15, obviously would not have been Captain at 15. Awaiting more info on sailing and Mutiny. Apparently she has more details - but I wonder further as I know now as much as is written here and she apparently knows little of the outcome etc: Any infop welcomed, on crew etc Thanks in advance from Keith.
