Have you ever wondered what happens to an aging Veteran suddenly
mauled by his own personal “Normandy” by friendly-fire VA forces, who
Lowered his Claim Award when he turned age 80?

Shocked, he realized it could put him back on the streets.
He knew it had happened to others.
It happens every day, and today— He’s IT.

It will happen tomorrow, and could happen to most any
Aging warrior secure in his twilight years suddenly
Receiving that unexpected claims reduction notice.

Veteran friends advise him not to Appeal the reduction;
Don’t rock the VA boat—they might lower your rating further!
Meanwhile, he lay there on the floor, it helped his back sometimes,
staring at the dark ceiling, fan whirling like a Huey’s rotor, and
Wondering how much longer the room, his room, would be his.

No sleep. He wondered without solution.
Prayed without answers.
How will he make it now?
Dark thoughts lingering he could not disperse…
and if not…

At least the dreams will stop.
