Date Posted: 18/11/07 9:29pm This may seem strange and am certain of recieving many words of wisdom, but was asked recently from an educated maritime source, that although he could understand that the Nerchant Navy was born from ever a time that merchant trade commenced and the Royal Navy from basically piracy, how and when did pleasure craft fly the red ensign. In reply I told that such craft could not fly a naval flag, Uncertain as to the Union Jack, but countries flags seem also not to appear. Would love advice. When the many Vessels of the D DAY Rescues, bravely entered the fr4ay, were they not also undert the ensign and each vessel dgedeserve a MN Vetrans Badge / Award. If I knew, I would have no need to ask more. HELP WANTED. Thanx in advance Keith. [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
