Subject: Re: Turning Points in Brian's Career

Thanks for sharing that story Old Spice. Quick question did you meet Brian and the rest of the Stones, Anita etc... before the infamous trip to Marrakech and all of the drug busts?

One point I would like to make is is takes two to tango and from all accounts, books etc...regarding Anita "defecting" to Keith is why didn't Brian confront Keith? For that matter vice versa? Why didn't Keith be a man and tell Brian to his face...I am in love with your girl... neither one sounds like they were very good when it comes to dealing with confrontation. If Brian "sensed" that Keith was trying to move in on Anita (it's obvious to me Brian cared and loved Anita) and the feeling was mutual from Anita to Keith then Brian should have confronted Keith. If one guy or gal loves someone then he/she will do whatever is necessary to try and save the relationship... pretty obvious to me. Strange, in my opinion, that both Brian and Keith did not let the other guy know what was going on...they had to have known that somebody was going to get hurt(Brian)...in other words getting dumped. Ive said this many times... after that incident Brian should have quit the band. The final nail in the coffin so to speak...how could Brian ever look Keith in the face and be friends, let alone play in the same band?

Old Spice, did Brian ever mention to you regarding that Marrakech incident that Anita "lied" to him promising she would get back with Brian after they went on their European tour in the Spring of 1967? There are stories that Brian did not want to go on that tour because of what Keith did to Brian in Marrakech. Any truth to those stories?

I am not trying to protect Anita in all of this but it seems obvious to me that Keith (through the years)somehow gets off the hook regarding that whole incident and Brian is made out to be the "monster"...which is total BS. Keith is as guilty as anyone else.
