Subject: And now, for a very special Review
In reply to: Jen 's message, "and a little bit softer now" on 01:36:23 02/21/04 Sat

One fine evening, while I was on my never ending quest to avoid actually doing my homework, I visited this message board and saw a post, which I found incredibly intriguing. And I couldn't decide what to say in response to this post, so I pondered and pondered....

now I post.

Matteo Speaks - Matteo

I thought this post was definitely interesting. However, I found you spent a little too much time with your introduction discussing your review, then your disregard for that review, your renewed interest in that review and your final disregard for that same review. It seemed like you wasted time and I don't see how reviewing Mullally sketches is pertinent to the issue at hand: reviewing writers.

Moving on, I'm not going to review your reviews of writers, I feel the same way about it I do Weekend update, there's just too much there. I would end up repeating myself quite a bit, and I think copying and pasting is a waste of a review. But I will say that out of 22 writers you reviewed you began their reviews 9 times with "Well," and for a reviewer of your caliber I would have liked to see some more variety.

In addition, I have to say I appreciate your effort to say relatively kind things about each writer. You never Simon Cowelled us, which is nice. However, I did notice that you disliked Mario Lanza and Scott Raulie's later stuff which makes we wonder if you long for the good ol' days, which is possible considering you also remarked you enjoyed past JP sketches more than current, and JP is a long timer which would allow his earlier sketches to coincide with (then) current Raulie and Lanza sketches.

So, Matteo, the reviewer who for whatever reason felt it timely and proper to SNL endow whom he chose, it seems as if you long for those good ol' days of SNY which makes me wonder what specifically you dislike about the present ones? In any case, my review is done. I'd like to see a shorter introduction, more variation with your individual review introductions and a more positive outlook on life. I think it'd healthy for us all.

I rate this post:

Bald

(I ran out of hair styles)
