So, now you've peaked my interest - where else have you lived and what countries have you been to?

RE: midwives. I used to know of a lady that was a midwife out toward Waymansville, but I can't remember now who it was. Didn't seem very important to me when I was in High School.

RE: staking out positions. My point was that you, Adilbrand and I were seemingly arguing about the definition of the word "near" (although I was goofing with it and wasn't "near"ly as entranced by the subject as others).

RE: use of world liberal. I think my confusion would have been kept to a minimum if you had used the world Non-traditional as the opposite of conservative in this case. Usually, conservative vs. liberal denotes a political debate, as in the classic confrontation of Reagan vs. Carter in the 1980 Presidential election.

I would agree that Columbus is very traditional in many of its views.
