As yet another person bumped into him, Craig gave in to the urge to growl. It started in the pit of his belly, vibrating in his chest for a long moment before escaping his lips. It was a subtle thing and would never be picked up by human ears amongst all this noise. He'd been in one place too long, needed to stretch his legs before he literally bit someone. He shouldered through a group of young men, ignoring their indignant shouts as he made his way to the bar. Leaning across, he placed a hand lightly on Angelina's arm, drawing her attention. When she finally leaned close he spoke into her ear "I'm taking my break, yell if you need me"
He made a straight shot for the rear of the bar, grabbing a pack of smokes from the pocket of his jacket but leaving the jacket there. There may still be some snow on the ground, but the cold never bothered him. Hadn't for twenty years, since he'd been Bitten. The blood ran hotter in his veins since he'd survived the attack, and with the moon almost full yet again his back was up. He didn't need to shift with the full moon, but it did pull the wolf to the forefront. Kind of like women with their PMS.
Pulling a single cigarette from the pack, he shouldered the rear door open and brought the lighter into play. Heavy boots stepped out into the back lot, hooking a thick piece of wood to keep the door from closing completely. His gaze slid over the slumped form of a man. Figuring it was yet another drunk who'd gotten stuck out here trying to find the bathroom, he poked the toe of his boot against the side of the man's shoe. "You can't sleep here, pal. You need a cab?" He let smoke drift from his lips as he spoke, hoping the guy would get gone so he could take his break in peace. |
